Please....

This past Sunday night the family went to Costco for dinner. Yep, dinner. It's not the most healthiest of dinners, but it is cheap and good. We get hot dogs, pizza and churros (yum... my favorite!) We went walking around the store before we ate and the kids fell in love with this outdoor wooden playhouse. They had a ball while Clark was looking at cameras (he didn't buy a new one because we just bought our finicky one last year). When we told them it was time to go- they asked us for the house... more like begging. Gosh, they learn that trait early in life.

So, any grandparents out there that are reading this.... the pic of the kids begging is for you. Pappa Clark said no. :)

Sister, Sister

On Thursday, February 26th, my sister and her two boys came into town from Fort Worth. Her hubby had already been down here at a conference downtown. It was super nice seeing my sister and her two little boys- Braden (5) and Landon (2). Unfortunately I didn't get that many photos of her boys - none of Braden :(. It was such a quick trip that the kids and I need to make it up there to visit them soon. Her youngest- Landon- eats "cuties" all the time. In fact, he eats about 7-10 a day that she got tired of peeling the skin off and now he does it all. :) So cute! He is 14 months younger than Huston and is almost a head taller AND weighs 6 pounds more than Huston. A couple of days before he came down he fell and busted his lip- hence the funky lip. Isn't my sister gorgeous?!? She just keeps getting prettier and prettier- it's hard keeping up!!

Here's what the kids did while I was in Chicago...

There was a train exhibit going on downtown. Clark (with the help of his father) took everyone downtown Saturday morning to see the trains. What little boy wouldn't have a field day??? (little boy, I meant any boy- young or old!)

I said that I didn't have a pic of Garrett's Popcorn and I did- it's the random photos below that is just the counter- no people in it. :) Gotta love the carmel popcorn with pecans- YUM YUM! No wonder why I gained 3 pounds on this trip!

On Saturday we woke up late and were pokey. It was snowing and COLD!! We decided to go up to Wrigley Field and take some pics- of course we snuck in a little Starbuck's along the way. Then we went to the Art Institute. There was Mill. Park where "the bean" is. If you look at the bean you can see the Chicago skyline in it. I forget what we did between Saturday and Sunday, but we ended up at the Hershey's Store. WOW! I could work there- I may be sick everyday, but I could deal with it! There might also be some random night shots off Michigan Ave.

The next day Taylor left :( She had to go back to work (I couldn't get a decent shot of her in uniform at 6:15am!) The rest of us went to the Aquarium, the Field Museum, Garrett's Popcorn (about 6 times in the four days that we were there!) and the Sears Tower (not mentioning back on Michigan Ave for some quickie shopping). After all that, the girls ended up at the Drake Hotel for High Tea. I loved every second of it. We had a blast! We were able to sit by the window overlooking south on Michigan Ave. while we drank our hot tea, ate some sandwiches and enjoyed the relaxing strum of the harpist. (Sadly I don't have any photos- sometimes it was silly asking someone to take a photo and then giving them 3 cameras.) They had THE BEST Bellini's. YUM they were so good! I would love to know how they made those! We ended up going back on Michigan Ave (gotta love it!) and then eating at The Cheesecake Factory for dinner. Once we finished dinner we went to the 96th floor of the Hancock Bldg for after-dinner drinks at the Signature Lounge- Another fabulous drink I had there was some iced drink with Bailey's. YUM Another random side note...Clark and I really need to get a new camera. Ours takes random black and white pics and it does not like being used at night. All the pics end up blurry. So, ode to the juice-be-gone-too-fast Iphone, I was able to snap a pic. It looks as if we were doing something evil- like witchcraft, but I needed some light to see their faces.
